We were acquired in 2014 by Summit Partners, and I ended up in private equity, post-acquisition at Summit Partners. I will say, is that private equity was almost like my MBA, in that it taught me how to scale a business efficiently. Coming from private equity, it's given me a way to look at this problem from outside the echo chamber.

Obviously, anyone except the largest five to ten content companies in the world, such as Google, Netflix, or Amazon, does not need to own their own CDN. We're privately funded today, with some equity from Menlo Ventures and Steamboat Ventures. Instead, they outsource to an expert like Edegcast.

It has just been released to wide audiences November 2010 – mostly in response to the growing popularity of Netflix and ironically the introduction of the ABC.com player on the iPad. I would reduce my equity stake much further. Hulu Plus now allows you to get a more extensive “catalog&# for $10 / month.
