Irvine-based Digital Map Products , a provider of geographical information systems (GIS) products, reported this week that it has signed on Union City, California, as a customer. According to Digital Map Products, Union City is using its product to collect and share GIS data among its departments and with the public.

Investors are buying your business, not your product. Don’t be afraid to ask an investor group leader for its track record, sweet spot and connections to startups funded. Other well-positioned groups outside the ACA, such as Keiretsu Forum in Silicon Valley , charge up to $1,500. Use initial feedback wisely to improve your case.

A few years later they announced $150 million in a funding round at $1 billion+ valuation and are ramping up jobs to secure their market-leading position.
