I continually face the challenge of designing and building registration / sign-up pages on a wide variety of different web sites and mobile applications. Design Challenge In this particular web site, we needed to get the user's email (and password). Here's a classic example that illustrates the issue - the sign-up page from Mahalo.

Jason Calacanis , the CEO of Mahalo, is planning some direct competition to Michael Arrington's technology blog empire, TechCrunch , according to a report today from the Guardian. startups, and Calacanis has increasingly directed Mahalo along the path of editorial content.

Getting lots of notice--and controversy--at Demand Media for its use of writers to create content specifically to attract web traffic. They've acquired CAPTCHA security tools originally developed by Vidoop, and looking to market that technology to e-commerce web sites, social networking sites, and others looking to reduce spam and fraud.

This is the beginning of a content community that collects and organizes the best content from blogs and web sites. The bottom line is that Los Angeles Tech is trying to help find and navigate that content. I'm happy to announce the launch of the Los Angeles Tech Content Community. Gilt Group is currently the largest private sale web site in US. Helps content publishers and advertisers launch campaigns that develop viral distribution attributes and therefore gain “buzz.”.
