To get some insight into how those names are changing--we caught up with Steve Banfield , SVP and GM of Registrar Services over at Rightside (www.rightside.co) -- which is in the midst of spinning out from Santa Monica-based Demand Media. Do you think there''s some challenge to the domain industry today due to mobile?

Do you transact immediately or on delivery of some product or service? How concerned are we about design for mobile? Native mobile apps? Obviously, it's far simpler to aim for browser-based systems and basically aim your design to work okay on mobile devices with some additional effort on the part of the user.

And while the App Internet is currently more powerful than the Mobile Internet it has fundamental flaws. In other words, our mobile devices are all powerful and the network that they connect into sucks. It’s central standard was HTML (hyper text markup language) that described how we would show data on computer screens.

Chris Tragos: Jetpack is an ad platform, which I would describe as the most beautiful, best engaging, and most performant ad product for desktop, mobile, and tablet. The HTML5 platform that we use is also available as a self service tool to customers. What is Jetpack, and what do you do? We are primarily focused on publishers.

We find that there’s all this really specialized software, software as a service, certain platforms, and different places you can do marketing; all of those have their own sets of data. Is it only a web-platform or will there be a mobile-version? So mobile is a huge part of it. Tablet and mobile are a huge part of that.
