Los Angeles-based ShoeDazzle has cut a significant amount of its staff, according to sources, saying that the company had "major layoffs" Thursday morning. ShoeDazzle's public relations firm could not comment on the report, and the company had yet to reply to requests forwarded to them at press time.

Following the late-stage failure of its lead program, an experimental gene therapy treatment for the most aggressive form of brain cancer, Tocagen will reduce its workforce by 65 percent, the company said Thursday.
