The firm says nearly 20% of all brides now shop for or sell a gently used wedding dress online, compared with just 6% in 2009 and they firmly believe Recycled Bride is helping make the sales even more possible. Nils Forsblom is not new to the startup world -- in fact, his last startup, Fruugo, raised an astounding $48M in funding, and became one of the most heralded-- and controversial --startups in Finland. In 2009, I got my green card and decided to move back here. It was the guy we'd outsourced as CEO. I was basically powerless.

A great recent example of this was a successful group of entrepreneurs who had created a company that will do $10-12 million in revenue at their system integration business (read: services business) in 2011 after having done $5 million or so in 2010 and $2-3 million in 2009. In fact, that’s all that I fund as a VC.

He was Director of Online Marketing for Mota Motors, a BusinessWeek Top 50 Most Promising Startup of 2009 and TechCrunch50 finalist. Goodreads raised a Series A round of funding from True Ventures in the summer of 2009. He previously led business development for Affiliate Fuel, leading to its acquisition by Experian in 2005.
