All the data actually suggests with the growth of mobile, inbound sales calls will double from 30 billion to 60 billion in 3 years (source: Kelsey). In fact 61% of all mobile searches where a customer contacts a business it is via a phone call (source: Google). In the US alone there are 30 billion inbound sales calls every year.

Case in point is the return of Larry Page to the role as CEO of Google. I don’t think that Google would have become the success story we all know without the leadership of Eric Schmidt through the years he led the company. It seemed that Google was being out innovated by another Silicon Valley technical leader, Mark Zuckerberg.

We grew 100% in SaaS revenue year-over-year and 650% over the past three years. If that’s your end goal I couldn’t think of a better leader to take us to that conclusion and I think it could be in the next few years because SaaS companies capable of doing 9 figures of recurring revenue are few and far between.

Closing a VC fund in 2009/10 is a major achievement in and of itself. The “private sale” market phenomenon was started in France by Vente-Privee (literally means “private sale”) and was replicated in Germany by BrandsforFriends. Gilt Group is currently the largest private sale web site in US. Time will tell.

I know that some of the best businesses have seen this rapid acceleration quickly: Google, Facebook, Instagram, AirBnB and the like. It’s been high tide since 2009 so an entire batch of entrepreneurs don’t know what low tide even looks like. In revenue terms our first two years of sales were $2.1 Not Google.

My background was 8 years of telecoms & mobile and 8 years of cloud computing & SaaS – so these two themes were a given. Nordstrom sales reps are trained to do this to, but of course they can’t know every customer that walks around the store. To be clear, that is excluding the sales uplift from the calls.
