Miramax and DVD rental and streaming firm Netflix announced this morning that the two have inked a streaming deal, covering the United Kingdom and Ireland. According to the two, the multi-year, digital licensing covers Miramax films, and will allow Netflix members in the UK and Ireland to stream titles starting in early 2012.

Beverly Hills-based NBC Universal Domestic Television DIstribution and DVD rental provider Netflix said Friday that they have expanded a license agreement covering streaming of NBC TV shows. According to the two, the deal allows Netflix customers to view prior season cable and broadcast TV series.

According to the two companies, the deal provides exclusive streaming access to new and forthcoming Sony Pictures titles, as well as to catalog titles and TV Series, beginning in June of 2012. Amazon's LOVEFiLM provides DVD rentals, game rentals, and online streaming in Europe, in a model similar to Netflix in the U.S.
