I attended the inaugural Open Angel Forum in Los Angeles back in January and wrote about it here. Jason Calacanis started this initiative in response to the pay-to-play network of angel events that he despised. The first event was a big success and brought out many of LA’s angel elite.

side note: our last fund at GRP Partners is currently ranked as the 5th best performing fund of the year 2000. You don’t need to buy expensive software – there are free open source solutions for nearly everything. But in bad economies many angels get burned. VC will shrink. Oh yes it will. That’s OK.
