San Diego-based AristaMD , a developer of telehealth software, which allows primary care providers to conduct and document electronic medical consultations, has raised $18M in a Series B funding round. The company said the funding will go to towards accelerating expansion of its platform across the country.
Del Mar-based ScoreStream , the crowdsourced local sports startup led by Derrick Oien, said last week that it has added new funding from Intel Capital. Details on the size of that funding round were not announced. According to ScoreStream, the round also included Avalon Ventures, Sinclair Broadcasting, R/GA and Verizon Ventures.
Chumby--which had been backed by JK&B Capital, Avalon Ventures, Masthead Venture Partners, and O'Reilly AlphaTech Venture--was known for its Linux-based, open platform which let users access Internet content and other services. The firm had raised on the order of $25M in funding for its efforts.
The startup--led by technology startup vet Derrick Oien--said the funding was led by Sinclair Digital Ventures, a division of Sinclair Broadcast Group. Also participating in the funding was Avalon Ventures, New Enterprise Associates, and angels, including Kevin Plank (Under Armour) and Paul Palmieri (Millennial Media).
