According to the firm, it raised a Series A investment led by the Tech Coast Angels. IntraStage's customers include Motorola, Panasonic and Northrop Grumman. The firm is headed by Patrick Kelly, and the Tec Coast Angels investment was led by Bob Fried, the former CIo of Staples. Other investors were not disclosed.

What you really need is a VP of Marketing and Customer Development, who can help with lead generation and honing the message, rather than an executive to manage a sales team and existing customers.

Coming out of ServiceNow around 2013, I realized that a lot of problems that we had been discussing and dealing with with customers adopting applications like ServiceNow into the enterprise, was establishing connections of that data and processes with systems in the enterprise. That's how we started. What specific problem were you seeing?

Currently, I am the cofounder and CIO of Remesh , which is an AI platform that understands and engages groups of people in conversation in real time. We also have much closer proximity to a large corporate customer base than other areas of the country, which helps generate revenue for companies early on.

A CEO who has “been there and done that” is traction, especially if teamed with a financial lead (CIO) and a product lead (CTO). For a business, you must define the absolute minimum features you need to satisfy the customer problem, and test it in the market. Get a real customer and real revenue. Show personal investment.
