In Poly Sci I learned critical thinking and writing. This is where training programs come into play. Maybe 2 years of computer training would suit some people better than 4 years of book study? I was prepared way more for business success in my political science classes than in my economics ones (I was a double major).
I had never had any sales training so everything we did for the first couple of years was instinctual. I’ve started writing up some of those sales & marketing lessons and I plan to continue to build that section out over time. So I did want any rational person who wants to improve does – I hired a coach.
It might tell you that you need better sales training or to hone your key selling messages. By the time of my second company MySQL was a much more robust solution and worked well when you had to read a lot of information but was less performant on “write&# activities. Skipping is insidious.

If you’re an early investor like I am that often means writing the first $2-3 million check into a business that previously had either survived on fumes or on a $500,000 angel round. Objection Handling training. You’re the coach, mentor, cheerleader. And then there is the C round.
