I’ve been having discussions with several people recently about the role of the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) in very early stage companies. He was at Overture before it was acquired by Yahoo.

In what is a fairly unusual move, last week, Tradesparq (www.tradesparq.com), a Chinese startup in the area of B2B trade information, said it was planning on setting up its operations here in Southern California, as part of an expansion and scaling of the company.
