He is not a technical person, but is somewhat web savvy. He wanted to get input from me on what he's doing, and he wants to begin to ask developers what it would take to build his product. Me : Product definition, use cases, feature list, wireframes, comps, really whatever you have. Go find a new technical resource.

some came from our customer service, some were to improve performance / scalability from tech ops, some were bug fixes, etc.) They attended property management association meetings in Oregon outside of the technology echo chamber of California to get a sense for people’s daily problems. I rarely see the tech team do this.

So, definition: when I talk about a business plan I’m not talking about a 40-page Word document outlining your market approach. That died with waterfall software development. Do you really want to spent $100k building a product to discover through Customer Development that the market is too small?

It’s also a very exciting time here in LA Tech with over 6 accelerators and incubators springing up over the past year.
