Costa Mesa-based Ice Energy , which develops an energy storage system used for saving energy used for air conditioning, has launched a new product specifically aimed at homeowners and builders. According to Ice Energy, it has rolled out a new product called Ice Cub , a hybrid air conditioning and energy storage system specifically for California homeowners and homebuilders.

First, there are at least three types of exits. Camarillo-based Semtech said today that it has inked a deal with Chinese internet giant Alibaba , as part of an effort to expand use of its LoRa wireless technology in China. According to Semtech, it has extended an Internet of Things (IoT) collaboration effort with the Alibaba Cloud, to help tackle use cases such as logistics tracking, air quality, food safety compliance, and smoke detecting safety.

Los Angeles-based ZipRecruiter , the online jobs site led by Ian Siegel, has raised $156M in a Series B funding round, the company said on Thursday morning. The funding was led by Wellington Management Company, and also included IVP and other, un-named investors. A number of reports say the funding puts the company into "unicorn" territory, with a valuation of more than $1 billion.

Pasadena-based Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals , which develops RNA-based gene therapeutics, has entered into a $3.7 billion license and collaboration agreement with Janssen Pharmaceuticals , the company announced this morning. Anaheim-based Willdan Group , which provides professional technical and consulting services, said late Wednesday that it has agreed to acquire Lime Energy Co. , which implements energy efficiency programs for electric utilities, in a deal worth $120M in cash. According to Willdan, the price represents approximately 10x Lime Energy's adjusted EBITDA for 2018.

Mike Morhaime , the longtime CEO of Irvine's Blizzard Entertainment , has stepped down from his role, becoming an advisor to the company, Morhaime said on Wednesday. Morhaime has been at Blizzard for more than 27 years, since he joined the company in 1991, when it was known as Silicon & Synapse.
