EV subscription startup Canoo, co-founder sued for alleged harassment

Just weeks after Canoo took the wraps off of its electric vehicle , the Los Angeles-based startup and co-founder Stefan Krause has been accused of gender and marital discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, and wrongful termination in a lawsuit filed Tuesday.

Thin Line Capital Launches New Energy, Sustainability Fund


Pasadena-based Thin Line Capital announced this morning that it has launched a brand new, energey and sustainability fund, which will invest in cleantech investing. The new firm, led by serial entrepnd investor Aaron Fyke, said its seed stage fund has had its first close of over $5 million. Fyke previously had been CEO of multiple companies for Idealab, and also was a cleantech investor at Starfish Ventures in Australia.

Linksys Launches Motion Sensing WiFi Technology


Los Angeles-based Linksys , the connect home and networking division of Belkin , has rolled out a new, in-home motion sensing technology, which will alert users of motion in their home--without the installation of other hardware. The new system appears to use the variation in Wi-Fi signals to detect when there is motion within the range of the Linksys mesh network.

The Trade Desk Names Chief Data, Trust Officer


Ventura-based The Trade Desk announced this morning that it has named Sandeep Swadia as its new Executive Vice President, Chief Data and Trust Officer. Swadia was most recently CEO of White Ops, a company in the digital advertising fraud prevention area, and according to The Trade Desk, has more than 20 years of experience in the technology and media industry. Swadia will be based in The Trade Desks's New York offices. Swadia reports to The Trade Desk's founder and CEO, Jeff Green.

Blizzard Entertainment Suspends Competitor After Support For Hong Kong Protests


Los Angeles-based Blizzard Entertainment has been unwillingly pulled into the ongoing political maelstrom in Hong Kong, after one of the competitors in its Hearthstone Grandmasters tournament expressed his support for protesters in Hong Kong on a post-game interview. Chung "Blitzchung" Ng Wai expressed his support for protesters in Hong Kong. Hong Kong has been embroiled in what has been a sometime violent protest against local police and the Chinese government all month.
