Netflix To Shut Down Service On Wii

Netflix , the streaming movie and television service which has significant operations in the Los Angeles area, told its users over the weekend that it will be shutting down access to its service from Nintendo's venerable Wii gaming console. Irvine-based Kofax , which develops document imaging software and systems, has acquired the Document Imaging division of Nuance. Kofax paid $400M in cash for the division. Nuance said the sale of the division will help it focus on its conversational AI and cloud-related technologies; Kofax said the deal will help it bolster its "Intelligent Automation" technologies.

Rocket Lab Successfully Launches Payload To Space

Huntington Beach-based Rocket Lab , one of Southern California's new crop of space and rocket startups, has launched its first commercial payload to space, successfully sending its first paying payload to space on Sunday. Rocket Lab successfully put six small satellites into orbit into low earth orbit. The launch is the second, orbital launch for Rocket Lab, which is led by Peter Beck.
