So I stand by my well-read Quora post of why I don’t attend demo days. I thought a lot about the original title (by the way, I often change titles after re-reading, editing and reflecting on the post) and I felt it was too hostile towards investment bankers, for whom I have no animus and I have many friends who are in the biz.

Sadly, no Kindle edition). A bit easier of a leap for bloggers, Tweeters, Quora contributors. In the “long tail” you can become enormously valuable if you’re a platform. Less so if you’re a content producer. It seems appealing at first since you can “ring the cash register quickly” and it feels good.

Dig deeper and you see that they do: project management (like 37 Signals), share and store files online (like DropBox and Box.net), create and edit documents online (like Google Docs & Zoho), Wikis (like SocialText) and Discussions (like Yammer). Like when in the space of a week everybody I knew had signed up for Quora.
