Just a quick note that I'll be moderating a Technology Council Event : Social Networking as a Business Strategy May 19, 2009 - Culver City Social networking media are used on a daily basis to grow businesses and expand career opportunities. Corporations increasingly see social media as a key PR, communications and marketing medium.

By now you probably know that David Sacks , co-founder of PayPal and founder of both Geni & Yammer made some observations on Facebook that Silicon Valley “as we know it” was coming to an end. He didn’t mean to make a media storm out of it – it was a simple comment on his Facebook page. Laughable now.

A typical day starts with email, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Yammer checks/updates. Then I check and manage our Google Adwords campaign and check our analytics/stats. It’s something I speak about quite a bit (see Social Media to Build Reputation and Reach Prospects and Social Media for Service Professionals ).

Google had no clue that they were going to make so much money in sponsored search. Geni.com beget Yammer. They had signed up Gawker Media and the New York Post. They had signed up Glam Media and TMZ. Or publishers can use ad-words where they’re constricted to the Google container and contextual links.

And I know that great startups like Yammer are doing well. TellApart “E-commerce tool for analyzing and targeting consumer behavior; ex-Google team&# – This company was founded by two ex Google Ads professionals – Josh McFarland and Mark Ayzenshtat. So hot that even Google is getting in on the act.

From TweetDeck to Yammer, WordPress to Twitter, Google Adwords to Yahoo Search, Facebook to LinkedIn, throw in a little AllTop, MyYahoo, Outlook, Powerpoint, Quicken (had to pay some bills)…my head is spinning. I literally have been switching from my Blackberry, to my iPhone, to my PC, back to the iPhone and on and on it goes.
