Santa Monica-based car buying and selling marketplacce TrueCar says that more than half of the consumers coming to the service are now using either a smartphone or tablet. The consumer product they’ve created is called TrueCar. Money to be used for hiring and additional product development. Geodelic develops free mobile applications to easily browse your surroundings (restaurants, banks, businesses, etc). Includes content mobile guides, ie. And it carries no inventory.

I was recently talking with a startup company who wanted me to try their product. They have a mobile app and I felt like it crashed too much for my liking. I’m a big believer in product stability & performance before adding too many features. If you have multiple versions of your product, how many are web vs. mobile?

If you want to hire very experienced product managers there are less of these than I would like. Scott Painter , founder of CarsDirect has created two new generation LA startups (Zag and TrueCar, both backed by GRP Partners). So it’s always a trade-off. All of these areas have still have a lot of growth and innovation left.
