Too Techie - Tone down emphasis on the technology underlying your venture; an interested investor will perform tech diligence at the appropriate time. No VC Fit - Match your venture with appropriate funding source.

I believe it is the new form of RSS – the place people go to find out what is happening in the latest news. I covered that topic in my Twitter is RSS post. Twitter is better than RSS – it’s “curated RSS.&# The stream is limited in length and therefore people share links. What else is out there?

Upon graduation from Wharton, John and Kyle launched a startup based upon a simple, pedestrian product: a computer mouse shaped like the head of a golf driver. I started with the hosted version and then migrated to an installed version so I could use Google Analytics and some other products. Now I’m a VC. You also should have it be what your Twitter page links to. That way people who want to get your blog by RSS and/or email can do so. I love their product.

But should you actually write one if you’re a startup, an industry figure (lawyer, banker) or VC? I was meeting regularly with entrepreneurs and offering (for better or for worse) advice on how to run a startup and how to raise venture capital from my experience in doing so at two companies.
