Westlake Village-based Zumbox , the online postal mail startup headed by John Payne, said this morning that it has partnered with Crawford Technologies, a provider of software used by companies to print large quantity of bills. Zumbox maintains a service which lets users pull up their mail, based on their postal address.
John Payne is a experienced entrepreneur, who has run two, public Internet companies -- Stamps.com and Day Software -- in addition to helping to run a number of startups. He's now head of Los Angeles-based Zumbox (www.zumbox.com). We've been so for some time, and it is a bit different from when Zumbox was originally founded.
Rob Reed: I was at Zumbox, where I was VP of Marketing and Government Relations. I was there from when the company launched until March of 2010, when I left to start MomentFeed. Zumbox was essentially the USPS online, where we had networked street addresses so that email cloud flow online the same way as it did offline.
ShoeDazzle.com , the online e-commerce startup headed by Brian Lee and whose co-founders include Kim Kardashian, scored top honors in the Best venture funding in digital media/e-commerce category. Other finalists were Clicker.com , Truecar , and Zumbox. Other IPO finalists were RealD , ReachLocal , and Inphi. and ServiceMesh.
