Despite a growing technology industry here in Southern California, local investors and entrepreneurs tell us there''s still a shortage of local, venture capital. In particular, funding for companies developing deep technology--software and cloud, as opposed to content and media--seems to be lacking.
The funding came from Claremont Creek Ventures, Google Ventures, Formation 8, Navitas Capital, Red Swan Ventures, and other angels. Navitas Capital has offices in both Los Angeles, as well as Alameda, California, and specifically makes early stage investments in energy efficiency and green technology.
