Yet in LA we have hugely successful entrepreneurs who have built big companies like Overture, CitySearch, MySpace, TicketMaster.com, LowerMyBills, Commission Junction, eHarmony and on and on. We have amazing large companies that are an important part of the future of the Internet such as Disney, Warner, Fox, Universal, etc.

Sometimes, Ill use LinkedIn to contact my network, but mostly I still just go to their profile and email them. He has been the CTO for several start-ups, most notably eHarmony. When I was looking for speakers for an event last fall on Web 2.0 , LinkedIn was a great way to reach out. Karrer taught Computer Science for eleven years.
