Conferences. Now, I’m pretty on the record that being an entrepreneur is about being great at The Do. I’ve talked in the past about how I manage my own creative process. I zone out and think about how things could be different. I was at the Lobby Conference a few weeks ago in Mexico. Board Meetings.

The firm has raised $7M in funding from New Enterprise Associates, GRP Partners, and First Round Capital. Gumgum has been hinting at the round at local conferences for the past months, but had been mum about details. It's unclear if prior investor Crosscut Ventures participated in this funding. I told them that I had recently seen several posts/articles talking about how vibrant the community has become. I was just talking with someone who's new to Los Angeles and wanting to connect into the Los Angeles Startup Community. As is usual, I couldn't remember where I had seen those posts.

I’m often asked the question about why there aren’t more women who are entrepreneurs. I would love to see Tara follow up with blog posts on: why she believes this is the case & what we can do about it. The truth is I have been thinking a lot about the topic, I just haven’t been writing about it.

I myself recently covered the topic when I spoke about why GRP Partners invested in Ad.ly. People feel angst about advertising in any form – I feel the same feeling about advertising as most consumers. GRP Partners invested in GoTo.com which rebranded as Overture. Who decides?
