For your first key hires, three, five, maybe as much as ten, you will probably not be able to use any kind of formula. For example, suppose you're just two founders and you want to hire an additional hacker who's so good you feel he'll increase the average outcome of the whole company by 20%. n = (1.2 - 1)/1.2 =.167.

We serve up four to five percent of the global Internet on our network. The Internet doesn't work right, and is broken, and without a CDN, you can't do what you need to do if you're the CTO of a large website. But, the timing is not very specific on that, and it's really about when the company is ready, and the market is ready.

We now have seven companies, and have our own venture fund as well, and we'll be doing four or five for the next few years. We have our own small seed fund, which we trigger to fund that company and hire a team, a CEO and a CTO. On the customer side, we have companies like Samsung, GE, Kaiser Permanente, Accenture.
