Obviously, some of this is just about technology--such as search engine optimization--and I think lots of readers are initially finding us through social media and search--but I also think that as the find a channel they are most interested in, they are coming back. That definitely has something to do with it.

Show me how much each unique visitor is going to cost you in search engine optimization and pay-per-click search engine expense. And you definitely should have ideas around important proof points for the business. Great stuff! And it’s surprising how few startup founders think in those terms.

They are in a space where there is lots of search traffic, but they didn't have anything particularly interesting to say about how they were going to get ranked. And to me, there seems to be a lot of confusion by founders of startups around search engine optimization (SEO) and how it works for a startup.

We've also found that online video really helps with search engine optimization. There was a recent study which showed that adding a video makes it 53 times more likely that you'll have a Google first page search result. Not having an enormous production crew, which businesses don't need, definitely keeps costs down.
