The ARPANET, as it was called back then, was designed by government, industry and academia so scientists and academics could access each other’s computing resources and trade large research files, saving time, money and travel costs. We are currently still suffering from those shifts.

He overheard me talking about Steve Jobs in conjunction with the entrepreneurship class that I teach at UC Santa Barbara. He proceeded to tell me several interesting and entertaining stories about Steve (all flattering), dating back to the early-1980’s. Jobs gave Mac a Macintosh 128k as a gift.

We are often approached by local communities to design trips and bring our guests, but we often have to turn them down because of a lack of infrastructure (necessary) for the safety and comfort of our travelers.
