What is the idea behind the Tech CEO Network? The Tech CEO Network is there to fill the gap. Myself, I am now working with a medical ultrasound technology firm, working directly with the researcher and a design firm. That technology is coming out of USC's biomedical department, which is part of its School of Engineering.

The group is a member of the TechStars Network, and boasts a who's who of successful local CEOs and investors. Upstart LA , started by Dan Dato and Bruce Brown, is hoping to take the TechStars and Y-Combinator model to Los Angeles, and has been in the process of lining up mentors and investors to back its incubation efforts.

Mike Tringe earned his BA in History and Science from Harvard, and his MFA in Film Production from USC. He’s worked as an English and Film teacher at the American School of Tangier, and has also assistant taught film production at USC. Sara Akhteh received her BA in Film Theory from UCSC and her MFA from USC in Production.

Founded in London in 2006, the Hub is a global network of social enterprises with each individual chapter acting as a gathering place for innovation, technology, creativity, and positive change. We came together with the idea of designing something that specifically addresses the skills and opportunity gap in our country. Since then, I have worked extensively with mentoring youth, and helping them figure out what's possible in terms of careers. Our CTO is from the USC Insitute of Creative Technologies.
