Realtime , a startup developing technology to help power real-time web applications, said today that it has raised $100M, launched in the U.S., and opened up a new office in Santa Monica. Realtime also opened up a New York office, in addition to existing offices in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, London, Madrid, and Lisbon.

As a software developer I wrote code on what was called a “dumb terminal” because it literally had no processing capability. Things got so bad on one project that we ended up doing split shifts with teams of people programming from 8pm-6am and the next team arriving at 8am. Social networking is peaking. Sound familiar?
