Hawthorne-based SpaceX called off its first launch of its Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket, and its payload, the Bangabandhu Satellite-1, merely seconds before launch on Thursday, saying that it was "standing down" due to a "standard ground system auto abort". The abort came at T-1 minutes. According to SpaceX, the rocket and payload are in "good health" and it will attempt a launch at 4:14 p.m.

Venice-based startup Heartbeat , which wants to pay women to share posts from brands, said this week that it has launched an app which lets women sign up for the company's service. According to Heartbeat, its new app for iOS and Android connects women with campaigns which offer free products, services, and/or payments for branded posts. Irvine-based PrescribeWellness , which develops cloud-based patient relationship management software, said this week that it has acquired the pharmacy-related assets of VoicePort. VoicePort is a provider of interactive voice response products for regional pharmacy chains and independent pharmacies. Financial details of the buy were not announced. PrescribeWelness said it will use the assets to extend its offerings.

Santa Monica-based private equity investor Arrowroot Capital has invested $38M in big data and analytics software developer ClickFox , according to a regulatory filing from ClickFox this week. The funding, without financial details, was announced on April 30th. According to the filing, ClickFox is targeting a total of $41.1M in the funding round. Marco Pacelli is CEO of ClickFox, which is based in Denver, Colorado.

Eli Lilly is making a splash in the fast-moving, highly competitive field of cancer immunotherapy. With a $1.6 billion cash deal to acquire Armo BioSciences, the Indianapolis company has placed one of the boldest bets yet that cytokine drugs could be critical in expanding immunotherapy’s reach. This morning, Lilly (NYSE: LLY ) agreed to pay $50 per share, which is a nearly 68 percent premium to Armo’s closing price Wednesday.

Hawthorne-based SpaceX is in the final phases of launch for a new rocket design, the Falcon 9 Block 5, targeted at 4:12 EDT today in Florida. SpaceX--which is hoping to launch the very first satellite for Bangladesh, the Bangabandhu-1, with the launch--and also prove out its new, highly re-usable design, which is aimed at making it even easier for SpaceX to re-use its rockets.
