Blackbird Links Santa Monica, Palm Springs

A new, air travel startup, Blackbird , said today that has launched new service between Santa Monica and Palm Springs, part of a expansion of the startup beyond its Bay Area roots. According to Blackbird, the startup, regional air service offers up flights starting at $124, and hopes to serve such destination which aren't well served by commercial airlines, such as Santa Monica and Palm Springs.

Open Listings Finds $6.5M More

Los Angeles-based Open Listings , a startup which helps buyers of real estate find homes, and receive a 50% commission refund, has raised $6.5M more in a Series A funding, the company revealed on Thursday. The funding was led by Matrix Partners, and also included Initialized Capital and Arena Ventures. Open Listings was founded by CEO Judd Schoenholtz and CTO John Farrill.

Digital Map Products Buys DMTI Spatial

Irvine-based geospatial mapping software and technology developer Digital Map Products has acquired DMTI Spatial , a location-based intelligence provider based in Canada, the company said on Wednesday. DMTI Spatial was owned by Neopost Canada. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. DMTI's location-based services included CanMap and LocationHub, used for Canadian geolocation data and high precision addresses.

Ingram Micro Adds Amazon Prime Fulfillment, Logistics Service

Irvine-based Ingram Micro says it has launched a new service, run by its Ingram Micro Commerce & Fulfillment strategic business unit, which will enable fulfillment of Amazon Prime orders in compliance with Amazon's 1- and 2-day Prime shipping SLAs. According to Ingram Micro, the new service will help its customers maintain a single pool of inventory, and still have access to Amazon Prime.

Cornerstone OnDemand Wins Commvault

Santa Monica-based enterprise cloud software developer Cornerstone OnDemand , which develops talent management and employee management software, said this morning that backup software provider Commvault is using its software. Financial details of the win were not announced. Cornerstone OnDemand said Commvault has more than 2,700 employees, who have been using Cornerstone's learning and performance management software as part of Commvault's employee learning and training efforts.

Teradata Acquires San Diego’s StackIQ to Strengthen Cloud Business

Dayton, OH-based Teradata (NYSE: TDC ), which has roughly 1,000 employees at its Teradata Labs engineering unit in San Diego, says today it has acquired StackIQ, a six-year-old startup near San Diego that specializes in software used to automate datacenters in the cloud. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. But reading between the lines, the acquisition has Oliver Ratzesberger’s fingerprints all over it.

Los Angeles-based on-demand, alcohol delivery startup Saucey said this morning that it has raised $5.4M in a Series A funding. The funding was led b Bullpen Capital, and also included Blumberg Capital, Structure Capital and HashtagOne. According to Saucey, it has now raised $10.2M in total funding. Saucey said the funding will go towards furthering penetration into existing markets.
