ElSegundo-based iSuppli announced Thursday that it has acquired UK-based Screen Digest , a firm which provides market research covering film, television, broadband media, mobile media, cinema, home entertainment, TV technology and video games. Screen Digest has over 45 analysts and is based in London.
ElSegundo-based iRise , the developer of enterprise application prototyping tools, is taking on the iPhone app market, saying today that it has launched a new visualization product called iRise Studio MX, which allows users to create iPhone app prototypes. iRise said the new private beta of the product is free.
The acquisition of ElSegundo-based iSuppli , worth $95M, has completed, according to acquiring firm IHS Inc. IHS said late Friday that the deal also included Screen Digest, a digital media and technology research company which was recently acquired by iSuppli.
ElSegundo-based out-of-home advertising firm Ripple TV said today that it has added two media executives to the firm's board of directors. Ripple places news and advertising on screens in retailers such as Borders, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Gelson's, Juice it Up!, Robeks, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Tully's Coffee.
The firm said that it is expecting to more than double its employee base this year, and is running a job fair at the organization to screen applications. The firm has been in a big hiring push this year, having run a similar job fair at its Irvine headquarters in April. The firm said it received more than 600 applications from that job fair.
ElSegundo-based Ripple has been acquired by TargetCast Networks, a San Ramon-based operator of a out-of-home digital advertising network. According to TargetCast Networks, the buy gives it 1400 locations and 3425 screens delivering local and national advertisements. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed.
