Los Angeles has a new, startup accelerator in town, thankss to talent manager Troy Carter , who announced on Thursday that he has launched SMASHD LABS , to help accelerate companies in the area of entertainment & culture. SMASHD LABS said it will accept applications to become part of the accelerator until August 7th.

The Walt Disney Company said Thursday that it will run its startup accelerator program, the Disney Accelerator , for the third year, with applications for the next session due on April 10th. The program, which is run in Burbank, includes both early and venture-backed startups in the area of media and entertainment.
