Probably every one of you who has a business and a website have been approached through email or personal contact, and asked to spend money on paid search results (appear on the first page of search results, despite low SEO rank). Thus I recommend that you stick with organic search, and use SEO to raise your ranking.

I've worked with several businesses that were essentially based on driving traffic via search engine optimization (SEO). I just saw a Forbes article talking about Google Hell - getting placed in the secondary index. It doesn't prevent Google Hell, but it certainly reduces the chances.

To learn how to advertise on Google to get traffic to your website or offline business read “ Advanced Google Adwords ” by Brad Geddes. The best place to find forums is Google.
