The formation of Hulu was defensive – designed to stop another YouTube or Napster from emerging and causing disruption to the TV industry. So without my weighing into the pro’s / con’s of this I can say that I believe it will capture a large segment of the market but leave room for “open platforms&# to play a big role. and Excite in particular as well as all of the Internet companies with grandiose stock market valuations.
