According to ventureLab, it will provide seed funding, along with product, marketing, and opertional support to its companies. The company did not say how much funding it intends to provide to startups. ventureLab is currently targeting companies in the area of advertising technology, social/gaming media, content and community.

Erik Rannala: MuckerLab is a new startup accelerator, focused on incubation stage Internet, software, services, and media businesses here in LA. We're providing seed funding, office space, and put them through a three month, structured program. It's a very similar model to YCombinator and TechStars.

This has led to the creation of incubators, accelerators and seed funds. Contrary to some press reporting, the boom in startups, the creation of accelerators and seed funds as well as the deserved popularity of AngelList do not signal doom for our industry. Thank you, Aaron Sorkin!

If you will need to supplement your own funds and assets for your business, don’t wait for a crisis to enlist family, friends, angel investors, or start a crowdfunding campaign. No presence gives you no credibility.

The startup--which is part of MuckerLab--landed a seed funding round last week, so we thought we''d catch up with founder and CEO Farbod Shoraka to dig deeper into the company''s goals and service. From there, we actually joined the Muckerlab incubator, and essentially have been growing florists on the supply side.
