They are tied to and influence the strategy/direction of the business.
In some cases, the throughput is so high that we have a new challenge from our old friend, “network saturation.” To remove the network bottleneck for future rounds, we are concocting a plan to cross the streams, in a manner of speaking: use lasers and the fiberoptic QSFP28 ports on our Cisco switch to bump the network capacity up a notch.

A couple of things I should add - Greg didnt mention the technical challenges they had (scalable complex matching algorithm) and the issues they had with an initial developer. LA is a vibrant community with a rich network of angels that fund early stage companies, lots of VCs, easy access to big media, lots of innovation in media, mobile content, games, green, health care, and many, many others. Probably the biggest drawback of Los Angeles is the distance and traffic that makes networking more difficult.

Its also been interesting to see the interaction of tools involved - Social Networking, Blogging and a Discussion Group. The level of resumes we get through our LinkedIn networks is top notch. Weve also found that other social networks such as FaceBook and MySpace to have almost no results when it comes to recruitment.
