Soraa Launches PAR20 Lamp

Soraa , the LED lighting company which is using technology developed by UCSB inventor Shuji Nakamura, has rolled out a new LED lamp product in the common PAR20 format. Soraa--which has operations in Goleta, but does its manufacturing in Fremont--said its new LED lamp is 85% more energy efficient than standard, halogen lamps.

Soraa Unveils LED Lighting Product

Soraa , the UC Santa Barbara spinout funded by Khosla Ventures, NEA, and NGEN Partners, has unveiled its first product, a new LED lighting lamp. Soraa, which was started in Goleta, said its Soraa LED MR16 lamp is intended as a replacement for traditional, halogen MR16 bulbs. Pricing on the LED lamps has not been released.
