I recently had a conversation with an pre-launch startup where they discussed how SEO was going to be really important for them. They are in a space where there is lots of search traffic, but they didn't have anything particularly interesting to say about how they were going to get ranked. I might get back: So, great news.

Every time I hear about a new startup that is in stealth mode, I wonder what problem they are hiding from whom. I believe stealth makes sense for large companies who can be sued for “pre-announcing” a new product to stall the market or kill a competitor. This takes time, and is more valuable than any advertising you can buy.
