We offered a service that has a net promoter score of 87 placing us higher than such great brands as USAA, Costco, Apple and Amazon. That tested well, but it seems the press liked SnapChat better. They designed a device that you could strap to your head and help you remove bad thoughts & experiences.

Component design – computers need computer chips in order to compute, and computer chips have to be designed by someone. Device design – all of the major computing components – CPU, RAM, connectivity, display, battery, etc. – need to be enclosed into a coherently designed device. Value Chain.

I think this is a perfect way to think about the world when you’re designing your product / company. Quite honestly I see way too many company pitches that are designed for Techies but I only want to invest in products designed for Normals. Anyway, Chris’s blog got me thinking about Techies and Normals.

Press, Pause, Play ‘s message of mediocrity is one that musical hardware device maker of this year’s SXSW, Miselu , plans to overcome. We can honestly say that it couldn’t have gone better for us with the phenomenal response we got from artists, press and potential partners. Yes, that is bold.

We just knew that we were onto an idea that no one had thought of and we had better be in the press first because, of course, there is a first-mover advantage. Getting press is sales. We didn’t even think about how we were going to answer calls… or how we were going to respond to everybody. Flip Burgers. Number one is sales.
