In late 2007, we had a group of guys were creating concepts about social identity. We had a concept around creating a platform, using open standards, to resolve lots of the issues surrounding social networking and the issues of identity. Instead investors are looking for the next flash sale, private sale, game dynamic, social games that rely on mobile platforms with geo-fenced, location aware offers. Most of my MBA classes were a waste (since I had studied economics as an undergrad) but one totally changed my thinking. That is conformity. I avoided much of this.

If you look back, the original founder, Stephan studied at the USC Foreign School of Music, so there is a long standing connection with LA.
