Fouad ElNaggar , a former venture capitalist who had been responsible for the Los Angeles office of Redpoint Ventures, has scored funding for a new startup, Sapho. in a Series A funding, which was led by Alsop Louie Partners. In 2011, we built our site, and in 2012, last year, we started getting content. Michael Kleist: We''re seed funded, and have already raised money from twelve investors. Our CTO is mainland Chinese, but was educated here. Fortunately our CTO doesn''t have that problem. Michael Kleist: We started in 2010. Grow, grow, grow.

2011 was an incredibly huge year for us, and 2012 will be the same way. I was sitting on the board at LiveOffice, which was funded by Summit Partnres, and was just sold to Symantec two weeks ago. My first big move here, when I came to Telesign, was I felt we needed a high quality CTO. In 2011, we had two of our patents approved.

This was her pain point, back in our early days in 2011, and at that time, social was starting to become big. Subsequently, I built another, similar company, which I sold to Sun Microsystems, and then started a B2B, online exchange with my current CTO, and sold that to IFILM, which was subsequently acquired by Viacom.
