I’ve been on the road much of 2012 and part of 2011. I plan to write about it early next year when we’re all through. Investor emails. Hell, I send those emails. I didn’t sleep much back then. I was on the road much and I internalized much of the stress so that others didn’t have to. Center seat.

I began publishing my blog in 2008. I was hesitant to use my own name, as I did not want my blog to be perceived as a self-promotional vanity project. In addition, my role as Partner at Rincon Venture Partners provided me with a business reason to invest additional time and effort into my humble blog. 2012 And Beyond.

If you follow the tech media you would be subject to a lot of narrative biases that are completely off base – and this includes the value of email and phone calls. I’m sure you’ve heard the meme that “email is dead” – if fact if you Google it you’ll find a long list of articles that will mislead you.

Be visible online and to traditional media, volunteer to lead, write guest posts for others, be responsive, give stuff away, and provide many ways to communicate.
