Hiring seems to be the preferred use of seed funds (by investors and founders), whereas I'd prefer a focus on customer acquisition. In many cases, during my Free Startup CTO Consulting Session with them, we discuss where they are in in the process. The startup founder is definitely not ready to hire a CTO. Far from it.

Our radio show, Tech News, powered by Make It Work has been a great success. Our new customer acquisition has grown and our costs have plummeted. We are actually getting paid now to obtain customers, so our customer acquisition costs are now negative. A negative customer acquisition cost!

Los Angeles-based MySpace has been among the most visible of Southern California's Internet era success stories, although the site--now owned by News Corporation--has had its own share of ups-and-downs, as well as questions about its future. It's unclear if Platform G has any other acquisitions or projects up its sleeve.

Not Really At first you may be thinking that this is all bad news. However, the good news is that for most investors, you can certainly change the question and get a lot more information without ever building the MVP. But now that you have a product, you should be able to show that people want to and/or are willing to pay to use it.
