Just the kind of person I like to meet. :) But I was a bit surprised when he emphasized how hard it had been for them to find a web developer in Los Angeles. My flippant comment was, “If you do a Google search for Los Angeles web developer, you’ll find a LOT of people and firms.” It’s a pretty active, but very private network.

That business includes our main registrar platform, which supports 20,000 resellers around the world, and also includes such acquisition as we''ve done such as name.com, domain auctions with Namejet, and a bunch of other activities. The app store is crowded, and the web is also crowded too.

Do you want Flash video, HTML 5 video, or both? Beyond simple web analytics, what is needed? Does the site need to throttle potential malicious activity? Video (and Audio) - if you have video, are you hosting it or can we use YouTube, Vimeo? Do you need to process user-contributed media? What about reporting and moderation?

What I want to answer with this post (long though it may be) is: Why did Web 2.0 Brands didn’t advertise their web pages they advertised “AOL Keywords.&# You couldn’t pick up a magazine in the 96-99 timeframe without seeing AOL Keywords advertised everywhere. How do you sort through all that social media activity you are driving, and figure out who really cares about what you're posting?
