ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW ), the Santa Clara, CA-based giant that provides cloud-based IT services, is boosting its emphasis on human-centered design with its acquisition of Telepathy , a San Diego specialist in customer experience and design. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Martin Rushe, the CEO and founder of Selz wrote a blog post announcing the deal. Nothing is changing for our customers at this time, and we’ll be in touch with customers as and when we have further updates. That's not bad but it's miles off market leader Shopify which boasts millions of customers.

It's like WordPress, but instead of blogging, it provides an online community, which is self-hosted. We have about 8500 customers there, but only a small percentage have built great communities that took off, and the rest floundered. We started working on local web design projects, but got sick of that in six months.

But as with consulting, PR, web design and even VC – it’s not just the firm it’s also the individual. Good people and evil people.

When you block by IP address, you may end up blocking an entire internet provider, and thus a lot of realusers and potential customers. Likewise, many bad bots intentionally use User Agent names that correspond to normal web browsers. As such you wont be able to tell from the user agentalone whether its a bot or a real user.
