On Thursday, the City of Ventura is formally launching a new incubator, the Ventura Ventures Technology Center (www.v2tc.com), targeted at high tech businesses. It costs anywhere from $200 to $300 a month per workstation, which is full service gross, Internet, and shared equipment and conference rooms.

Of course if I’m not ensconced in deep, thoughtful work then by all means I answer the call. About six months ago I signed up for a service called PhoneTag run by Jamie Siminoff. The service starts at just $9.95 / month (no, I’m not an investor, I just love the product. I got rid of voicemail.

Too many founders are convinced they “need” equity financing, for the wrong reasons, as outlined in the book and supplemented with a bit of my own experience: Need employees and professional services. Of course, every company needs these, in due time. You need specialized equipment. General startup expenses are beyond your means.
