Customer service has always been reactionary, meaning someone has to wake up and answer website email requests. That’s just not savvy enough to hold today’s fickle, less loyal, and ready to jump customer. This exemplary customer service is just savvy marketing. Always end self-help postings with “Did this answer your question?”

I have some educated guesses. He argues for a world he calls POSO (post social) in which we will only use social applications which drastically cut down our time involvement and/or increase our productivity. Social media will be pervasive in the enterprise and is primarily driving by customer interactions.

This move is indicative of the possibility that the traditional ways of going about making a living through a college education, an entry-level position at a firm, and steady promotion through the ranks is a dead model. With a bank account full of someone else's money, it's hard not to feel flush with cash and have a false sense of security.
