Edmunds Launches New Car Ranking Pages

Santa Monica-based Edmunds , the automotive information and shopping site, says it has launched a new set of pages specifically aimed at providing best car rankings. According to Edmunds.com, its new landing pages will the top 10 vehicles in descending order in each of more than 50 segments. Edmunds claims its rankings are based on its own vehicle testing process, plus evaluation at its test track, a 115-mile road test loop, and day-to-day driving situations.

A report today says that Venice, California-based Snap is getting set to launch a another version of its Spectacles, its connected, video- and snapshot-capturing sunglasses, for the heady price of $350.00. According to the report, the new Spectacles will be capable of producing augmented reality effects in videos, including overlay of AR lenses and 3D photo effects based on footage from the glasses.

Hawthorne-based rocket and space vehicle developer SpaceX is renaming its upcoming, passenger-carrying rocket--the BFR--to "Starship", and will refer to the rocket booster as "Super Heavy", according to SpaceX founder Elon Musk. The reason for the name change was not known, although Musk is known for his often capricious naming of his projects. BFR had officially stood for "Big Falcon Rocket" but had also referred to "Big F**king Rocket".
